Athelhampton Picnic and gathering
13th August 2023 @ 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
Bournemouth & Poole’s annual event this year will be on Sunday 13th August. As a Club we have again been invited to attend and have been offered a prime spot in the gardens by the river of this fine 15th Century Elizabethan Tudor Manor-House.
With other visiting classic car clubs there will be a large collection of MGs and classics of all ages, and trade stands and stalls selling craft and gifts, bric-a-brac, motoring memorabilia, books, and jigsaws, plants, a grand tombola, a summer hamper draw, and food stalls selling hot and cold drinks.
For those wishing to travel on the Sunday club members drive down together to a local garden centre for early tea/coffee and/or breakfast, arriving later in the morning at Athelhampton House.
For those wishing to make a Saturday & Sunday weekend break on the Saturday we have again been invited by B&P to go on an afternoon run through the local Dorset countryside.
Meeting in the morning for tea/coffee or breakfast near Chichester. We then drive down to the Fordingbridge area to meet up with our hosts for a run through pretty Dorset villages, ending with a visit to the RNLI’s headquarters in Poole. In the evening we have arranged to meet at the Cock and Bottle Pub in Morden, Dorset for an evening meal together, before returning to our accommodation, which will be up to everyone to arrange.
