Southwick House D-Day Allied Naval Headquarters – CANCELLED

Join us on Thursday 25th of June for the second of our D-Day themed visits, this time to Allied Naval Headquarters, Southwick House, Southwick, Fareham, Hampshire PO17 6EJ where we will visit the 1944 D-Day Map Room to view the original wall map and plans of the D-Day landings of 6th June 1944.
A special 10:00 am private group booking has been arranged for us by our member Mike Crockett, and we understand that we will be permitted to photograph our MGs in front of this splendid historic building.
A curator will give us a 45-minute talk in the Map Room, after which we can visit the Royal Military Police Museum on the same site.

After our visit, we shall adjourn to The Red Lion pub PO17 6EF in Southwick village for a pub lunch.
Places on this trip are currently limited to 15, but maybe increased if there is sufficient demand. Payment in advance of £7 per person (TBC) will be required for this visit.
N.B. Please note that Southwick House is today part of the Defence School of Policing & Guarding, and to gain access to it we must comply with their security procedure.
Hence we are required to provide the
name,

car make,
car colour,
and registration number of each of our attendees in advance.
Mike will collect these details from you.
We will assemble at the Westbound A27 (BP/Marks & Spencer) Emsworth Services PO10 7RB at 09.00am, before then proceeding to Southwick House.
