Peak District Tour 2023

22nd April 2023 29th April 2023

The destination for our Spring Tour 2023 will be the Peak District. Located mostly in Derbyshire, the Peak District includes the UK’s first national park, famous for its scenic hills, moorlands and dales. En route, we will spend a day touring in the Cotswolds and on the return journey there will be an overnight stay near Coventry.

Itinerary

Saturday 22 April

After meeting for breakfast near Chichester, the tour will start with a suggested scenic route to a traditional country hotel on the Oxfordshire edge of the Cotswolds, where we will stay for 2 nights. The route will allow us to arrive in plenty of time to meet for a drink in the bar before dinner.

Sunday 23 April

A full day to explore the Cotswolds AONB.

A suggested scenic route including places of interest and a recommended lunch stop will be provided, or you can make your own plans for the day.

We will then return to the hotel for dinner.

Monday 24 April

The tour will continue with a suggested route to our main destination in the Peak District, where we have exclusive use of a small hotel located in the picturesque Hope Valley for 4 nights

Tuesday 25 to Thursday 27 April

On each of our three days in the Peak District, we will provide a route book covering a different area. These will include places of interest to visit and suggested coffee and lunch stops. Alternatively, you may wish to make your own plans.

Our routes will include some spectacular sights, such as Snake Pass, Monsal Dale, Winnats Pass and Ladybower Reservoir.
Other places of interest in the Peak District include:

  • Chatsworth House and estate
  • Bakewell – a pretty market town famous for Bakewell Pudding
  • Buxton – spa town with Pavilion Gardens and Opera House
  • Matlock – former spa town with a cable car to the Heights of Abraham
  • Castleton – picturesque village famous for show caves
  • Cromford Mills – location of the world’s first water-powered spinning mill
  • The Great British Car Journey collection of 140 British Classic cars
