MGOC 1006 Visit Gosport & Fareham Inshore Rescue Service
8th July 2021 All day
We have been invited to an accompanied tour of the charity’s life boat station at Stokes Bay in Gosport, to view their boathouse and operations room, have a look at their two lifeboats, address questions to the charity’s secretary and have an opportunity of taking photos of our MGs parked outside the lifeboat station next to the lifeboats,
Subject to Covid 19 Legislation and Guidelines being lifted, our visit is scheduled for 11.00am on Thursday 8th July. We meet at 09.00am at the BP/M&S Emsworth Service Area on the west bound A27, and then drive down the M27 and A32 to the lifeboat station at Stokes Bay in Gosport. While there is restricted parking at the boathouse, there is unlimited parking within a ‘Pay & Display’ car park next door.
Our visit is restricted to just 20 club members. Following our visit, members will have the opportunity of a pub lunch on the way home, full details are to follow.
While there is no cost involved, as this is an invitation from a registered charity, we suggest a voluntary donation of £5 per person which can be collected on the day. Funds raised will be handed over to the charity in full. There is also a collection box outside the boathouse for those wishing to get rid of their change! Following our visit, members will have the opportunity of a pub lunch at ‘The Shoe Inn’ at Exton just off the A32, www.theshoeextono.uk , followed by a scenic run home through the South Downs. Our tables at the pub are booked for 1.00 – 1.30pm. Gosport to Exton is approximately 15 miles via the A32, but you should allow 45 minutes.
DUE TO RELAXATION OF RULES BEING PUT ON HOLD WE HAVE CLOSED REGISTRATIONS FOR THIS EVENT. ALL THOSE WHO HAVE REGISTERED WILL BE CONTACTED TO MAKE FURTHER ARRANGEMENTS
