Suggested Itinerary summary

Saturday 26th April

After meeting for breakfast near Chichester the tour will start with a suggested route to the Bird In Hand Hotel, Witney. This hotel is familiar to the club as we stayed here at the start of the Peak District Tour in 2023, and it proved to be a very popular choice of accommodation.

Sunday 27th April

An opportunity to explore the Cotswolds, the largest National Landscape (formerly AONB) in the UK, famous for its picturesque villages, historic market towns and rolling hills,

River Thames at Lechlade

A suggested scenic tour route in the southern Cotswolds including several places of interest and a recommended lunch stop will be provided, or you can make your own plans for the day.

We will then return to the hotel for dinner

MG’s in the Cotswolds

Monday 28th April

The tour will continue with a suggested route north through the Cotswolds, before heading west towards Herefordshire. Our hotel for the next five nights is The Pilgrim Hotel close to the historic cathedral city of Hereford, we will be staying near the centre of the county, so an ideal base to explore from.

Tuesday 29th April to Friday 2nd May

We will provide suggested scenic routes for three of these days, covering the Malvern Hills area (home of Morgan cars), the Wye Valley south towards the Forest of Dean, and west into Wales at Hay-on-Wye enroute to the Black Mountains. These will include places of interest to visit and suggested coffee and lunch stops.

An optional tour of the Morgan Car factory is also proposed, where we will have a guided tour of the Morgan production facility.

  • The Weir Garden (NT) – riverside garden
  • Croft Castle (NT) – walled garden, vineyard, parkland
  • Dean Forest Railway – heritage steam railway and museum

We will have a ‘Herefordshire’ themed quiz on one of the evenings and on the Friday evening there will be an ‘End of Tour’ dinner and presentations.
